Trane®, a leading global manufacturer of indoor air conditioning systems and solutions and a brand of Trane Technologies, announced the launch of RTWF XSE, its latest addition to the XStream™ portfolio of water-cooled chillers and heat pumps water-to-water. The new XStream™ RTWF XSE high-efficiency chillers and heat pumps allow customers to install a single system to meet the seasonal cooling and heating needs of their buildings throughout the year.

The new RTWF XSE units, available in capacities from 400 to 1,320 kW, are equipped with the Trane variable volumetric ratio compressor that allows for cutting-edge seasonal cooling efficiencies and high heating temperatures within a single system. The XStream™ RTWF XSE can achieve a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) in cooling up to 8.91, 36% above the threshold of the Ecodesign 2021 directive, combining it with a heating capacity of up to 68 ° C.

To further increase the flexibility of customer operations, XStream™ RTWF XSE features a compact design and a small footprint. Building owners can now replace older, less efficient systems and benefit from higher heating and cooling capacities and efficiencies without space constraints.

Heating performance and cooling efficiency are the priority for every property owner. Water-to-water heat pumps are often used to meet cooling and heating needs, depending on the season. Trane is promoting innovation by listening to their customers and their needs. By introducing our variable volume ratio compressor technology, with the RTWF XSE unit, customers benefit from the high seasonal cooling efficiency and heating capacity of a highly efficient heat pump, in a combination - in the past - quite impossible within a single unit.

The new Trane XStream™ RTWF XSE units include the following key features:

  • Combination of a high SEER of up to 8.91 (s, c = 353%), which exceeds the Ecodesign Tier 2 thresholds by 36%, which will come into effect in January 2021, and high heating capacity with hot water up to 68 ° C, to meet the building's seasonal cooling and heating needs.
  • Trane variable volume ratio (VVi) screw compressor, with permanent magnet motor, variable speed and integrated silencer.
  • Compact design and smaller frame to adapt to the most difficult installation points in buildings, allowing the replacement of older and less efficient units within the same space.

Trane XStream™ RTWF XSE is in line with Trane Technologies 2030 sustainability goals and with the commitment to reduce its customers carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to the combined annual emissions of Italy, France and UK.
