Trane®, leading global provider of indoor air conditioning solutions and brand of Trane Technologies, has introduced the new Sintesis™ eXcellent GVAF air-cooled and XStream eXcellent GVWF water-cooled chillers with refrigerant-optimized magnetic levitation compressors R1234ze with near-zero GWP.

New high-speed centrifugal compressor technology allows the units to offer larger capacities, wider operating maps suitable for the toughest European climatic conditions and higher seasonal efficiency, all in a smaller package.

The new air-cooled Sintesis™ eXcellent GVAF models offer capacities from 450kW to 1600kW with a seasonal energy efficiency ratio of up to 6.5, making them suitable for hospitals, offices and industrial process applications.
The new Sintesis™ eXcellent GVAF features models specifically designed for data center applications with capacities up to 1900kW. The more robust operating map allows the units to provide reliable cooling even at ambient temperatures of +48°C, meeting the needs of customers facing extreme heatwaves in Europe. GVAF XSS, the smallest version of Sintesis™ eXcellent, is up to 3375mm shorter than the standard frame of similar capacity, making it perfectly suited to replacing older generation chillers or where higher efficiency is needed in a smaller space.

The new water-cooled XStream eXcellent GVWF chillers benefit from optimized magnetic levitation technology for R-1234ze refrigerant and now offer increased performance and economic efficiency.
The new GVWF XSE range offers from 380 to 2.1 MW of capacity with SEER up to 10 and an expanded operating map up to 30°C evaporator leaving water temperature, making it ideal for comfort cooling, data center and industrial process applications.

Both Trane Sintesis™ eXcellent GVAF and Trane XStream eXcellent chillers feature the latest Trane Symbio 800 adaptive controller that provides smart control of cooling system operational reliability and efficiency. The Trane Symbio 800 controller is able to keep the unit running despite the toughest conditions and events, when other units would simply shut down. This is especially important for data centers, which have to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

To take advantage of the low ambient conditions, the new Trane chillers also include an optimized free cooling system for a more efficient combination that offers minimal system energy consumption.
