Emerson ushers in a new era of commercial refrigeration with Copeland scroll technology for CO2 refrigeration systems. By combining a new generation of Copeland CO2 scroll compressors with intelligent electronics, Emerson offers a new solution for CO2 booster systems that reduces costs and plant complexity while ensuring maximum efficiency in any climatic condition. A new range of refrigeration units based on this cutting-edge CO2 scroll technology, designed specifically for small and medium-sized stores, is also planned to be introduced in Europe.

Emerson's new CO2 Copeland scroll technology contributes greatly to addressing the current and future challenges of the commercial refrigeration industry. In addition to meeting the requirements of the F-Gas regulation and increasing energy efficiency, it simplifies refrigeration systems by facilitating their design and facilitating the opening of small stores from an economic point of view, which are becoming increasingly important for urbanization. With this new technology, Emerson offers a refrigeration solution that can significantly reduce the CO2 surcharge, decrease plant complexity and be used in all weather conditions.

Emerson introduces three ranges of Copeland next generation CO2 scroll compressors for transcritical (medium temperature) and subcritical (low temperature) applications consisting of fixed and variable speed models. These are extremely compact, light and silent compressors compared to the equivalent semi-hermetic models commonly used in CO2 refrigeration. They generate less vibrations and pulsations in refrigeration systems, improving the reliability and safety of operation. A feature that is particularly advantageous for use in noise-sensitive urban environments.

The new range of CO2 scroll compressors for medium temperature applications with fixed speed (ZTI) covers a power range between 8 and 19 kW. Equipped with a permanent magnet brushless motor (BPM), the variable speed (ZTW) models offer greater flexibility as they allow you to expand the power range from 4 to 36 kW, while maintaining high efficiency. The compressors always work at optimal speed, making inefficient intermittent operation obsolete.

In addition, Emerson offers two ranges of compressors for low temperature applications ranging from 6 to 15 kW of power, including fixed and variable models capable of extending power up to 27 kW. One range for subcritical applications works with a standstill pressure of up to 110 bar, while the other operates with a standstill pressure of up to 45 bar. The new generation of Copeland CO2 scroll compressors includes a suite of intelligent electronic components, incorporated into an efficient and reliable solution for CO2 booster systems that provide CO2-based refrigeration from 25 kW to 100 kW at medium temperature.

This Copeland CO2 scroll solution saves up to 14% on estimated costs and increases seasonal efficiency by up to 8% compared to the compression technologies commonly used in current CO2 booster systems.
