RTR (Refrigerated Trailer Rentals) in Holland is the first to adopt the new Thermo King Advancer-e electric refrigeration unit in their fleet, while Dailycool is the first customer to benefit from the motorless technology.

Thermo King®, a leader in transportation temperature control solutions and brand of Trane Technologies, announced that the first trailer equipped with the new Advancer-e electric, motorless trailer refrigeration unit has entered service in the Netherlands. The trailer is part of the RTR fleet and is operated by Dailycool, a company specializing in transport and logistics services for fruit, vegetables and meat.

RTR is based in the Netherlands and offers short and long term rental of fully equipped refrigerated trailers to customers in the Benelux, UK and Germany. RTR has already been operating an extensive fleet of Thermo King Advancer A-Series refrigerated trailers, and now is committed to offering its customers the most efficient and sustainable solutions available on the market.

The new Advancer-e electric unit in the RTR fleet is powered by the Thermo King Energ-e Pack system, while the refrigeration unit has been designed to be power independent and compatible with all main alternative power sources to the engine, including Thermo King AxlePower, Frigoblock's alternator and inverter technology, and also ground power when in storage.

The Advancer-e unit can reduce the carbon footprint of a trailer fleet by up to 10 tonnes of CO2 per year thanks to its all-electric architecture. It is compatible with any tractor for city deliveries or long haul assignments, ensuring no direct emissions, silent operation and a reduced number of moving parts which results in reduced requirements and overall maintenance costs.

The flexibility of Advancer-e allows transport companies to always be one step ahead of the evolution of low-emission legislation. Advancer-e is combined with the same A-Series controller and intuitive telematics, offering benefits in terms of sustainability and efficiency in temperature control.

All Thermo King Advancer units are manufactured on Thermo King's state-of-the-art, carbon neutral (ISO 14064-1) production line in Galway, Ireland.
