The Ministerial Decree of 14 February 2020 published in the Official Journal by the Interior Ministry provides for the updating of the Vertical Technical Rules referred to from Annex 1 to the Decree of 3 August 2015, or of the so-called "Code of Fire Prevention" (CPI).

Refrigerant gases in air conditioning systems (chapter S.10) inserted in TA or TO areas must be classified A1 or A2L according to ISO 817.
A2L gases can be used in the following areas:
Tourist-Hotel Activities:
Refrigerant gases in air conditioning systems inserted in TA, TB, TC or TO areas must be classified A1 or A2L according to ISO 817.
Educational Activities (Schools, Universities etc.):
Prohibition of installation in other premises, ie those with a high load of fire, with electronic equipment, and other areas other than those specified.
All this in addition to the already known Ministerial Decree of November 23, 2018:
In commercial activities it is already possible to use A2L gas in the TA areas (areas of sale and exhibition including common spaces, accessible to the public).
