Emerson introduces a new range of standard and digital scroll compressors for medium temperature refrigeration designed to operate with low GWP A2L refrigerants.
In compliance with the F-Gas Regulation (F-Gas Regulation), manufacturers are required to ensure that their systems are future-proof in order to reduce direct and indirect CO2 emissions that contribute to global warming, which involves choice of the most suitable refrigerant and system architecture. To facilitate the transition to compliance, Emerson has developed solutions for a range of refrigerants such as CO2 (R744), propane (R290) or alternatives such as HFO / A2L refrigerant blends. Each solution is optimized to work with a specific refrigerant.
The new range of YB and YBD compressors have been optimized internally and externally for use with F-Gas compliant low GWP A2L refrigerants, such as R455A, R454A, R454C and R1234yf, in order to offer the most reliable compressors on the market for refrigerants with a high HFO content. The architecture, system design and installation for HFO blends are similar to those used for HFC refrigerants. These similarities will simplify the installation, commissioning and maintenance of refrigeration systems. This range of compressors is ideal for the small food distribution and catering sectors, including direct and indirect expansion systems, condensing units for cold rooms, remote condensing units and single / double block systems.
Emerson's new Copeland Scroll compressors for low GWP refrigerants are lightweight and have compact design. They offer specific design for operation with high HFO content refrigerants and have a fully hermetic and reliable scroll technology, to avoid any risk of leaking slightly flammable A2L refrigerant.
