Embraco, a global provider of refrigeration technology for the residential and commercial cold chain, and part of the Nidec Global Appliance brand portfolio, in 2021 began series production of a pair of residential refrigeration compressors designed to remodel the future in this segment.

With an extraordinary combination of innovation, energy efficiency, environmental sustainability and a unique ratio of cooling capacity to size, these launches only strengthen the reputation of the Embraco brand, which has filed over 1,500 patents to date.

The two new compressors are the ES and the FMS, both very small in size while achieving a wide range of efficiency and cooling capacity, demonstrating that the trend towards miniaturization and the incorporated technology can be combined.

The FMS, for example, which is the smallest, is a 123 mm high variable speed compressor that reaches 265 W of maximum power, a result normally provided by larger compressors. The FMS also has the special mission of making variable speed technology more accessible around the world, bringing with it the benefits of energy saving, low noise, stability, reliability and better food storage.

Both products work with the natural refrigerant R600a, which has no ozone depletion potential and a global warming potential close to zero, representing a solution for the present and the future. This new development effort has resulted in a total of 38 new patent applications so far.
