Embraco, a global supplier of refrigeration technologies for the entire residential and commercial cold chain, and part of the Nidec Global Appliance brand portfolio, has announced a new line of R290 condensing units for the European market, specifically for food applications service, such as refrigerated counters, blast chillers, cold rooms and display cases. The range will be part of the products highlighted at Chillventa, the world's leading trade fair for refrigeration technologies, to be held in Germany from 11 to 13 October 2022. This new range complements the offer of customized R290 units that Embraco has offered to its customers in recent years. The models being launched present a number of new features compared to the previous Embraco condensing units. One is the mini-channel condenser technology, which is based on thinner tubes that increase pressure and require less refrigerant than other technologies. Another technology is the electronic motor fan (ECM technology) present in all models, which further increases energy efficiency. The 2022 models are as compact as the current HFC range, with a height ranging from 254 mm to 322.5 mm. The displacement ranges from 4.5 cc to 38 cc, available for both low and medium temperature applications. The cooling capacity ranges from 0.4 to 2.8 kW in MBP (at -10°C) and from 0.3 to 1 kW in LBP (at -35°C). The new line also reduces complexity for customers by being available in 3 predefined equipment configurations to choose from to meet the needs of OEMs and installers. The new range brings with it an improvement in energy efficiency of 7% - 9%, compared to the HFC line. It is equipped with a set of highly efficient Embraco compressors using R290 natural refrigerant. Among the compressors available are fixed speed models launched in the last 3 years, such as EMX, EMC, NEX, NTX and NJX, as well as variable speed models, such as FMFT and FMFD.
