To celebrate World Refrigeration Day, on June 26th, a series of webinars will be held on the subject of possible careers in the refrigeration sector.
The World Refrigeration Day Secretariat has announced that it will partner with seven organizations to raise awareness of students and young professionals globally about career opportunities in industries that rely on refrigeration technology.
People and the careers that make modern life possible will be highlighted in these webinars that will last over two weeks in June.
Organized as part of the day's 2021 campaign theme “Cooling Champions: Cool Careers for a Better World“, the webinars will be conducted by groups whose networks reach developed and developing countries. The partners of this initiative are UNEP OzonAction, ASHRAE, EPEE, FAIAR, IIR, ISHRAE and U-3ARC.
The goal is to inspire students and those who are now starting their careers to join more than 15 million people around the world currently employed in the refrigeration industry to help make the world a better place.
"Collaboration with these organizations allows the refrigeration industry to reach a global level, with particular emphasis on developing countries, to expand the workforce that supports technologies that are vital to society," said Steve Gill, creator of this Day. "Opportunities within the industry abound for young people with a wide range of career aspirations. Advanced cooling technologies provide them with a profession that improves life in their communities and in the world as a whole”.
Each participant in the initiative will organize a webinar suited to his audience. Particular emphasis will be given to sectors that are commonly less known such as the cold chain, refrigerant management, indoor air quality, sustainability, heat pumps and non-traditional technologies. Gender equality and the women they promote in cooling careers will also be highlighted in this webinar series. The program of webinars and topics will be available in the coming weeks on www.worldrefrigerationday.org.
