At the beginning of March, the webinar entitled "From managerial skills for sustainability to Circular Economy best practices" organized by Confindustria SFC, Fondirigenti, 4.Manager and Federmanager was held, aimed at companies and management to inform, update and share experiences and with the aim of bringing out the opportunities linked to the circular economic model, activating knowledge-sharing dynamics and disseminating the country's best practices.

On this occasion, the "best performers of the Circular Economy" were also awarded, i.e. companies that were able to grasp the spirit and business opportunities offered by the circular economic model in the various stages of the production cycle. 210 companies that participated in the 2019-2020 edition; among those awarded we find Daikin, which has distinguished itself with the “Circular Economy” project with the ambitious goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.

Loop by Daikin is the Daikin project that systematically collects the needs related to the market for the reduction of CO2 emissions in the environment on a European scale. The naming was chosen to link to the concept of “loop”, of infinity, thus representing the cyclical nature of the use of the refrigerant gas. This cycle therefore refers to the process of recovering and reusing the refrigerant which, once regenerated, is reintroduced into the machines. The leading product to represent this trend is the VRV, for which Daikin uses a large part of regenerated gas. This saves over 250,000 kg of virgin gas produced each year, drastically reducing the impact on the environment, because it ensures zero impact on the recognized F-gas quota.

Palazzo Borromeo d’Adda in Milan is the first practical demonstration of the Loop by Daikin project. The redevelopment was aimed at making the building as efficient and contemporary as possible, as well as guaranteeing an even longer and more sustainable life over the years. Not being able to work on the passive part of the building, it was necessary to focus everything on the technology of the systems; for these reasons the proposal to adopt a Daikin air conditioning system was born. The system used is therefore composed of VRV IV+ outdoor units positioned on the roof of the building.
