On 26 May at 2.30 pm, at the Musme headquarters - the Museum of Science and Medicine in Padua - a free conference organized by CAREL invites people to reflect on the importance of quality in healthcare environments. The meeting will see the participation of experts from the healthcare world and the HVAC sector, who will discuss the scientific evidence that demonstrates how the correct control of air humidity is a precious ally for our health. In light of the new regulations, which regulate the design of buildings and the adaptation of existing structures in a perspective of economic sustainability, solutions will be proposed that can improve air quality in healthcare facilities, with particular attention to energy efficiency of installations and the reduction of consumption. In fact, to improve air quality, all buildings had to quickly implement substantial installation changes, and health facilities, in particular, accelerated the design of new systems to ensure proper ventilation, increasing the introduction of external air into buildings.

Never as in the last two years have we paid so much attention to the ventilation of the environments in which we spend our days, even if important studies, already in the mid-eighties, revealed how precious and unexpected ally air humidity control is for the defense of our health. In fact, if the relative humidity is kept above 40%, the spread of viruses is more contained, and if the range in which it is between 40 and 60%, the benefits for the immune system increase considerably. Dr. Gabriella Guarnieri, Medical Director - Respiratory Physiopathology - Department of Cardio-Thoraco-Vascular Sciences and Public Health, University Hospital of Padua, has been dealing with this issue for years, deepening it in relation to the recent fight against the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. During the meetings organized by CAREL in collaboration with Musme, it will help to understand how the correct control of air humidity not only reduces the ability of viruses to spread in environments, but at the same time increases the ability of our immune system to react.

Among the speakers will also be the Engineer Marco Piernoli, Management Consultant and Director of Technologies and Infrastructures - Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome, who will share the challenges faced by the largest Pediatric Polyclinic and Research Center in Europe, regarding the control of air humidity and energy sustainability. Access to the conference is free while seats are available. Asecond date is also scheduled in Milan on June 28, on the occasion of the next Mostra Convegno Expocomfort.
