The BITZER ORBIT scroll compressor range includes the ORBIT, ORBIT + and ORBIT FIT series. ORBIT is the universal solution for air conditioning and heat pump applications, while ORBIT + with Line Start Permanent Magnet (LSPM) motor is one of the most efficient scroll compressors in its class. ORBIT FIT with Economiser technology ensures efficiency and performance improvements for all air conditioning applications, however it is particularly suitable for those with high pressure ratios such as heat pumps. Operation with economizer also extends the limits of use and allows use in heat pumps with low ambient temperatures.

To meet the increased market demands for high efficiency heat pumps and scroll chillers, BITZER has developed the ORBIT FIT (Flexible Injection Technology) series with Economiser technology. The economizer increases the efficiency and performance of the system in air conditioning and heat pump applications. Steam injection with economizer increases efficiency and yield for all air conditioning applications, extends the limits of use and therefore allows operation with lower temperatures, further delaying the need for additional heat from other sources in use with heat pumps. The ORBIT FIT 8 series of scroll compressors with economizer has displaced volume from 48 to 77 m3 / h at 50 Hz.

The special versions of the ORBIT FIT series, optimized for specific applications, take advantage of the A2L category refrigerants with a low GWP (such as R454B, R452B and R32), as well as the conventional A1 refrigerant R410A. The flexibility of the ORBIT FIT series is underlined by further technical characteristics: the compressors can work with external frequency inverters in a wide frequency spectrum (35–75 Hz) in single installations or in parallel with compressor configurations of equal or different power.

All BITZER ORBIT scroll compressors are designed to be interchangeable: models with the same power have the same dimensions for the connections. This minimizes development work for designers and manufacturers, allowing them to take advantage of already available frames, support surfaces, pipes and production processes. In this way, development times are shortened and new systems can be brought to market more quickly.

BITZER's ORBIT and ORBIT + scroll compressors for low-GWP refrigerants such as R454B, R452B and R32 have been in series production since the beginning of 2019. With the imminent launch of production, the ORBIT FIT 8 series will complement the BITZER portfolio and offer the customers even more options for air conditioning applications.
