A-Gas, world leader in the supply and management of the life cycle of refrigerants and associated products and services, has reached an agreement to acquire the refrigerant regeneration business of Safety Hi-Tech in Italy. Finally, the transaction is subject to the approval of local regulations.
Andrew Ambrose, managing director of A-Gas, comments: “This is an exciting addition to our global business; it marks a further step in our commitment to a "low-carbon circular economy operating model to achieve our priority goal as a leading global provider of environmental solutions that manages the entire refrigerant life cycle.”
Safety Hi-Tech is based in Avezzano, Abruzzo, Italy, about 100 kilometers east of Rome. The business was originally established as a fire-fighting gas regenerator and has grown to become a market leader in the recovery and regeneration of refrigerants in Italy.
Europe’s A-Gas CEO, John Ormerod, commented: “The launch of A-Gas Italia is a great opportunity for us to expand further and to use A-Gas's experience and proven track record in the largest refrigerant market. We look forward to exciting times and are working within the newly expanded team to increase our service with existing and new customers in the region."
Aldo Indovino, CEO of Safety Hi-Tech, said: “From the point of view of Safety Hi-Tech, this sale will allow us to continue to focus on our core business of fire protection. We are pleased that, through the continued involvement of A-Gas, which is clearly a global leader in this space, the reclamation activity in Avezzano will reach its full potential. We are pleased that A-Gas's investment will also have a positive impact in the Italian region of Abruzzo".
