The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is an action program for people, the planet and prosperity signed in September 2015 by the governments of the 193 UN member countries.
10 years after this target, AiCARR, the Italian Association of Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration, intends to take stock of the situation and look towards the future, until 2050, on the issues that compete with it: from sustainable energy to sustainable cities and communities, to fight climate change.
With this in mind, the Association, in partnership with Mostra Convegno Expocomfort, the world's leading trade fair for civil and industrial systems, air conditioning and renewable energy, organizes its 37th national conference, entitled "2030 objective: scenarios, technologies and strategies for energy sustainability in air conditioning", which will be held live on the web on July 9 and 10.
“The theme of this conference - observes Filippo Busato, President of AiCARR - was conceived before the lockdown that changed our lives and our way of conceiving what surrounds us. AiCARR has always firmly believed that the rapid development of renewables and energy efficiency, which began in the early 2000s, would be followed by a further acceleration which would have seen in our country the introduction of important shares of renewable electricity, a significant reduction in emissions of pollutants and a substantial increase in energy efficiency. Now that the pandemic has brought the general interest on installations and on the quality of the environment and that new measures have been introduced, such as the 110% Ecobonus which will make it possible to upgrade the energy of part of the Italian building heritage, the challenge we expected can no longer be postponed.
This is the most suitable moment, therefore, to open the debate on the topics proposed by the 37th AiCARR National Conference. Mostra Convegno Expocomfort, our partner since always, has supported us in the organization, making available its web platform, in addition to its promotional and communication channels, to overcome the distances that the current situation requires of us".
The conference program
The morning of July 9 will see the invitation report given by Stefano Moret, a research Fellow at Imperial College of London. Its presentation will offer an overview of the energy optimization and planning models currently available, analyzing their advantages and disadvantages. Furthermore, it will illustrate a new multi-vector and multi-sector model for the optimization of regional and national energy systems, for the decarbonization of the Italian energy system by 2050. In subsequent reports some proposals will be presented for the long-term national programming from the point of view of energy efficiency, various topics will be addressed, with particular interest in innovative plant and technological solutions, also in a scenario of energy requalification of plants and buildings.
The morning of July 10 will be opened by the invitation report of Marco Filippi, of the Polytechnic of Turin, focused on energy and environmental monitoring as a winning strategy for the reduction of energy consumption for air conditioning. Monitoring and supervision allow in fact to obtain awareness of the actual functioning of the building, allowing to activate adequate actions to reduce consumption. The reports scheduled for the next part of the morning will propose various topics related to control, automation and monitoring in applications that concern the residential and tertiary sectors, also with a look at multipurpose situations.
